HCYPBTKIRWO Chapter 2

'Huh… Well...’

That night, I slept with the lights on while I was crying over the price of the electricity bill that will come.

"How should I draw it for you?"

"Just draw something you like."

There seemed to be no specificality, but I was used to this.

“The scene where the witch counts the gold coins.”

First of all, he asked me to draw one picture, so I drew it and sent it with the opposite image of the witch picture seen on the Internet.

"But does it fit the writing?"

I couldn't have known because I didn't know the contents of the book.

Then a few days later, during a fall picnic at the kindergarten, I received an e-mail from a publishing company.

Hello, illustrator,

Our representative and writer have their confirmation! ^^

Thank you for drawing it beautifully.

We will send the book to be worked on to the illustrator's address. Please check the attached detailed instructions.

"Oh yeah! What should I buy once I get paid?"

It was a time when I was happy at the news that I was accepted from the witch I drew.

"Ahh!"

"Teacher!"

"Oh no!"

A loud cry was heard from the river. A classmate had drowned.

So I would have died in an accident as soon as I heard the good news...

"She lives well no matter where she is in a foreign country.”

As my grandmother used to say, I suddenly fell into an unfamiliar fairy tale one day and accepted my new life quite quickly.

‘But why am I here?’

But I still don't know why I was brought here to become an evil witch.

Daisy and Lady said that the evil witch was using forbidden magic that day, and a scream was heard when they entered the basement.

Then I came into this body.

“What happened to Hazel, the real evil witch?”

I didn't know anything about the fairy tale other than that it was a reinterpretation of Hansel and Gretel, so all I could to ask was Daisy and Lady.

As for the two, let alone ‘Hansel’ and ‘Gretel’, no children have come to visit yet.

So when Hansel and Gretel visit one day, should I take on the role of the witch instead?

But what is the witch's role?

Am I the villain trying to eat Hansel and Gretel like the classics?

But I'm not evil. I don't even know the contents of this book anyway, so whether the story goes wrong or not, can't I just be a good witch?

But the problem was the original witch who occupied this body. Was it because she had accumulated karma one by one before I came?

Thanks to this, I was misunderstood as a witch in the classics, seducing people into the cookie house and eating them.

I was only going to serve tea.

‘I’m sorry…’

This place is in a fairy tale, so while I was drinking tea in a healthy way, I suddenly stopped my hand.

There was the sound of something gnawing outside.

I could even hear the two small voices whispering.

I snuck up to the window then gently stuck my head out

My eyes widened at the sight.

Two kids, who looked like kindergarteners, were chewing on the newly pasted cookie wall.

“Heuk-heuk.”

“Shh, be quiet.”

The girl covered the mouth of the boy who was crying while eating the cookie.

Maybe Hansel and Gretel?

Finally, this fairy tale, is something happening? I smiled and flicked my fingers in excitement.

“You guys! I got you!”

“Hey, that’s a cannibal witch!”

The children's bodies were lifted into the air. Little feet struggled as they floated off the ground.

With another flick of a finger, the children flew in through the wide open window. I grabbed the struggling children's collars, one in each hand, and set them down on the kitchen floor.

“Get away now! How dare you touch me knowing who I am?”

As soon as I lifted mynhand, the girl grabbed the boy's hand and ran into a corner, and she cried out furiously.

“I’m Java... I won't eat...

Meanwhile, the boy just cried while holding the cookie he was eating in his hand.

I held back my laughter and folded my arms tightly.

“You guys. If you eat my house, you should at least say thank you.”

“Bad witch! No thanks! Everyone said that bad witches who eat sweets and eat people should be punished!”

"That's right. And bad children should also be punished.”

“We’re not bad.”

The girl hugged the screaming boy and cried.

“Hmm… You mean you don't regret it? Then should you be punished?”

I narrowed my eyes and waved the finger that had been enchanted a while ago, and the children began to tremble.

'It's so cute. They look like squirrels.’

It was fun, but it felt like I had to do it this way.

“But I’m not as evil as you think, so I’ll give you a choice.”

"..."

"Pick one of the two punishments. One, you'll be my dinner tonight."

I played.

The children's eyes widened as I pointed to the fire pit with my fingertips.

"Two. Drink tea with me today.”

I moved my hand pointing at the oven and headed towards the table where cookies and cakes were cutely arranged.

From then on, I didn't know that the eyes of the children would fall off the table.

‘Fufu, will it be delicious? Yes?'

There was a moment when I thought that I had almost passed it all as they looked at each other and exchanged glances with each other. The girl suddenly crossed her arms and shouted.

“Bad witch, you can't deceive me... ”

Squeak.

The moment a loud noise resounded through my little hut, the confident child's face went red.

In the end, the children chose the second ‘punishment’.

“Wait, before you eat!”

The children were out of shape. As if they hadn't washed for a few days, soil and leaves were attached to their hair, and their clothes were so dirty that it was hard to recognize the original color.

I wanted to get water from the wooden barrel right away and wash them, but I held it in. Because the children couldn't take their eyes off the table with a sweet smell.

"No matter how hungry you are, you have to wash your hands."

The children's hands were put in warm water and washed gently.

"If you eat something like this, you'll get sick."

The children were still wary of me, but they gave up their hands calmly.

"So cute."

This chubby and small hand, it's been a while. Liking children, I was much more excited than ever and served customers.

"This... Maybe..."

"Huh?"

The girl looked at the plate where the human cookie danced while wielding a cane with surprised eyes and trembled.

"Did you make a small person like this and bake it?"”

Children's imagination is...

I laughed so hard. Then the child's eyes, who misunderstood my meaning, grew bigger and pushed the plate far away.

"Oh, I'm not going to eat it. I can't eat people.”

"Will you have carrot cake?"

"Carrot? I don't like it."

"I don't like carrots either..."

Even the boy, who sat quietly next to her and was only looking at me, spoke.

I sat down in my seat with a big smile. I deliberately cut the carrot cake in the middle of the table into large pieces and put it on my plate.

A white icing poked a fork into a cake covered like a snow field. While I scooped it out and put it in my mouth, the children's eyes kept following my hand.

"Hmm, it's delicious. It's sweet and moist. I can't even taste the carrot. Ginger, you should try some too.”

When the children didn't seem to believe me, I talked to Mr. Ginger, and the Gentleman Cookie waddled toward the cake as I thought, grabbed a slice, and buried his face deeply.

"Hmm, you added a lot of honey and it tastes good."

I spoke with ventriloquism that I learned to read fairy tales to kindergarten children. The innocent children could not take their eyes off of Cookie's mouth as they thought he was talking.

"Right? I thought Ginger, who hates carrots, would like it too."

Soon, Cookie ate too much cake and lied down on a plate, saying he was full. Although I quit controlling it.

"Wow, it tastes so good."

I deliberately took another big bite in admiration and put it in my mouth. One of the children who was watching me swallowing a piece of cake must have finally plucked up the courage.

"...I want to try it too."

The girl alternately looked at the cake and the empty plate. I didn't know how much she would eat, so I cut a little piece and put it on a plate.

The child's eyes became round like macaroons as she took a bite.

The boy who was watching her eating without saying a word said he would eat it too.

Soon, the eyes of the boy who tasted the carrot cake were no different from that of the girl.

"Carrot is sweet."

The child nodded loudly and pointed at the top of the cake with a small finger.

A child's unique expression of the taste of snow as icing on the cake is really cute. I smiled and took the carrots from the cake and placed them on a plate.

“There is a lot to eat, so eat slowly.”

I was very happy to spend time with children after a long time. I watched with joy as they filled their stomachs with cakes and cookies.

‘By the way, have you not eaten anything like this?’

It was like tasting icing for the first time. They seem to be children from poor families who cannot afford to buy sugar.

"What is your name?"

Slowly I started asking about the children.

“I am Luna. This is Luca.”

“Wow, a pretty name. How old are you?"

“I’m seven, Luca is five.”

"Ah. Are you two siblings?”

"Yes."

Luna, whose vigilance was blurred because she was full, started answering my questions succinctly.

As it turns out, the two have similar facial features. Their hair, eye color, and personality are completely different.

“But where are your parents and why are you alone?”

“I don’t have a mother or father.”

'Are you an orphan?'

It would make sense or else they wouldn't have messed around like this without even washing.

“Ur… ”

Luca, who had been quietly chewing his butter cookies, opened his mouth with a hesitant delay.

"Yes?"
